In the summer of 2013, FilVetREP came together to create a national campaign to raise national awareness about the service and sacrifice of Filipino and American World War II veterans. This campaign led to their national recognition when the US Congress honored them with the Congressional Gold Medal on Oct. 25, 2017.

It was accomplished with tremendous support from members of Congress, community leaders, charitable organizations, families, friends, and many dedicated volunteers.

FilVetREP’s next mission is to develop an online interactive educational program to preserve the historic legacy of Filipino and American World War ll veterans. On November 6, FilVetREP launched the first phase of this interactive education project, which is replete with incredible and unexplainable stories and facts from living veterans, from families, and discovery of hundreds of historical accounts and artifacts that were filed away at the National Archives, the Library of Congress and family records.

This ongoing education program features hours of oral history testimonies, profiles of key historical figures and dozens of animations and illustrations that bring the story to life.
