For Immediate Release
The executive board and members of the Filipino Veterans Recognition Project (FilVetRep.org) invite you to a memorial service to honor FilVetRep General Counsel Enrico “Erick” Soriano and his brother, Felicito. Among many of Erick’s accomplishments, he was instrumental in the bill that was signed into law in 2017, awarding the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal to Filipino and American Veterans of World War II who fought in the Philippines from 1941 – 1945.
The memorial service will take place at the Romulo Hall of the Embassy of the Philippines located at 1600 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20036 on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. There will be light refreshments served and a memorial book will be open to attendees who would like to sign their names and provide notes of condolences after the memorial service.
Due to security protocol required by the Embassy of the Philippines, only guests who confirm their attendance will be allowed entry access to the memorial service. It is important to please confirm your attendance by Sunday, January 13, 2019 to Ben de Guzman at email@example.com.
For those who are unable to attend, you can send your sympathies to Ms. Priscilla Sutherland c/o Margaret Lacson-Ecarma at 2116 S. Columbus Street, Arlington, VA 22206. Both Erick and Felicito, who were U.S. citizens, died in Marikina, Philippines on December 21, 2018. Their deaths were a result of a family dispute that is currently under investigation.
